You might find yourself with a lot on your mind today. After all, life can be incredibly difficult with many challenges that we face throughout the day. Sometimes those challenges might be loneliness or dealing with a challenging teenager or not being sure how to navigate a relationship or what school to choose to attend or the thousands of others things that are going on... 

There are many times that we do not know what to do or what to say or how to respond to these situations that we face. Maybe you would like your marriage to be in a different place.

Or maybe you don’t find yourself in a difficult place today, but you want to pray and are not sure how?

But what would you say if I told you that God loves you and cares for you and you can take whatever you are facing to Him and He will hear you and listen to you and He can meet you where you are and speak into your situation wherever you are today.

How?

Try this…

1.      Take a moment to relax. Maybe close your eyes and just be still. You can totally disguise this if you are sitting a your desk. If you are a stay-at-home mom, maybe escape to the bathroom for a few minutes.

2.      Now, think about God loving you. Think about Him smiling and being full of joy when He sees you. Maybe you think about Him being right next to you and Him smiling and being fully pleased with who you are.

3.      And then using the text below, imagine Jesus saying to you, “What do you want? (John 1:38)” and simply reply back to Him. Tell Him what you want. Tell him what is going on. Tell Him how you feel.

4.      What does He say back to you when you talk to Him? Receive what He says. Sit with it. Hold on to it.

5.      Respond back to Him. Be completely honest and don’t hold anything back and have a conversation with Him.

God loves you and cares about you. He meets you wherever you are.

As we engage with Scripture and pray through it, God can speak to us in incredibly personal and real ways.

Now if you didn’t really encounter God in a way that you would have liked to, that’s fine. God is generous and gives us what we need when we need, and it’s good to be intentional to pray and talk to God no matter the outcome. We know that God hears us no matter what.

35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” 37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. 38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”

They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” 39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon. 40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter).
